Foodie Friday: Oct 9th to 15th
A very short Foodie Friday in gallery format today.
A very short Foodie Friday in gallery format today.
I have lived in Calgary for almost 20 years, and had never been to Nose Hill before Saturday. The Husbeast (who grew up a few blocks away) felt that needed to change. He gave me a choice…the “Ho Hum Way” or the “Fun Way”. My knees aren’t too happy I chose the Fun Way… 😉
It’s another Foodie Friday! This week saw just a little more variety at mealtime. We actually had a plan, and we stuck to it – make a menu, do one large shopping trip, and prep in advance where necessary. It actually seems to have worked.
A bit of fun & games this week. Had a night out with friends on Friday and saw The Martian on Saturday!
Now that we’re safely into October, here’s a little retrospective of the past month:

We were privileged to see Primus (with the Fungi Ensemble) live at the Southern Jubilee Theatre on September 11th.
I happened across the Wordless Wednesday meme on Create With Joy, and thought I would try it out, particularly as I have been trying to take more pictures. We visited Canmore this past weekend to attend a family member’s wedding. I think I spent more time gawking at the mountains than anything else.
It’s the eve of the twenty-second century: a world where the dearly departed send postcards back from Heaven and evangelicals make scientific breakthroughs by speaking in tongues; where genetically engineered vampires solve problems intractable to baseline humans and soldiers come with zombie switches that shut off self-awareness during combat. And it’s all under surveillance by an alien presence that refuses to show itself.
It’s been two months since a myriad of alien objects clenched about the Earth, screaming as they burned. The heavens have been silent since – until a derelict space probe hears whispers from a distant comet. Something talks out there: but not to us. Who to send to meet the alien, when the alien doesn’t want to meet?
