First things first…the testknit of my pattern, 28:06:42:12 is almost done. You’d think this would have been done prior to the pattern release, but some socks only really require one sock to be done before the technical information is released. Truth to be told, Sock #2 is a walk in the park in comparison to the first one.
Yep, that floppy looking thing up there is a sock without a toe. It will have a toe by bedtime tonight, and later (when the husbeast and I are both awake during daylight hours together again), I’ll be getting some modelled photos. Because I think that would rock those particular socks 😉
My Pimpelliese has been getting some minor attention this week, usually because there’s a burnt out light in our break area that made working on the blue socks a pain in the arse. If it was dark, I’d just haul out the scarf and do another pattern repeat.
It’s now Socktoberfest, and as a result, there’s going to be a lot of socky goodness going on around here. I have two patterns in my head, one of which is almost fully realized. Hopefully I’ll have that pattern out of my head and into PDF format by the end of the month. In the meantime, I cast on a plain, ordinary stripey sock out of Patons Kroy Stripes. My friend Lhiabelle turned me on to the colourway, mentioning that it was like someone had dyed up some Hallowe’en (Burnished Sierra Stripes, if anyone is wondering). I’m knitting them up afterthought-heel-style on size 3 Addi Turbos.
Last but not least…cuteness attack! It’s amazing what can happen in a year…it was about a year ago that I decided to start posting more. I was also podcasting pretty regularly (I’ll be getting back to that after an equipment upgrade), and the oft-mentioned Lhiabelle was expecting to bring forth life into this world (I thought I’d get a little poetic there). Lhia had requested that if I made any baby sweater for her Impending Arrival, that it be the Baby Yours sweater by Stephanie Pearl McPhee, and so I did.
Sarah is almost a year old now, and…able to wear her sweater! At least she’s gotten enough wear out of it that I could snap a photo, so that makes me a happy camper.
(Also, as a sidenote, our much anticipated Impending Niece or Nephew has arrived – a wee niece named Darby Margaret Alice. No photos yet, as we have not yet had a chance to get over to the house and present her with her sweater meet her. Soon!)
