Should’ve done that yesterday

I finally managed to squeak a little time to take a few photographs, and very quickly came to the realization that maybe, just maybe, I should have gotten my rear in gear a little sooner.  On a less overcast day, perhaps.  But, things being as they are, I tromped out to the patio and set up with my little Powershot A1000.

These are a pair of socks that I recently finished, that I had previously referred to as the “Awesomesocks”.  I absolutely love the fact that the only part that matches is the heel.  The colours just sorta mosey all over the sock, though the patterning is pretty easy to pick out if you know what to look for.  That yarn, by the way, was Crazy Zauberball by Schoppel-Wolle in the colourway “frische Fische”. I was really surprised at how fast they knit up, but I suppose you could say that once I started, I really couldn’t stop.

Speaking of that…same pattern (Hermione’s Everyday Socks by Erica Leuder), same yarn manufacturer.  This time the yarn is just plain old Zauberball (though there’s really nothing all that plain about it), colourway “Fuschienbeet”.  Robin actually picked out this colourway and said that they looked like they would make happy looking socks.  For the longest time, I had dubbed the ball of yarn “Robin’s Shiny Socks of Happiness”.  Now I just sorta refer to them as the “Beer Socks”.  Maybe because I was knitting on them while he was sampling beer awhile back.

Last, but certainly not least to be photographed, are a pair of socks I started on a whim.  They might look familiar to those who read other popular knitting blogs, and I will admit to being easily swayed by the bling factor.  Well…that and I have really been wanting to use this yarn for some time and finally seem to have found a pattern that shows it off really well.  I’d say that the pattern is “Lenore” by Stephanie Pearl McPhee, but only in the manner that I saw what she was doing and said “Hey…I think I know how she did that”, and started writing out a chart.  No, I won’t be recreating said chart on the site…but you can get the original via Blue Moon Fiber Arts.  I’d like to think that I’m using my powers for good, rather than evil…in the long run, at least.
