Two Days

This is what I have after two days’ worth of knitting:

Two days, 4.5 inches (11.5 cm for the metric-enabled)

Now, bear in mind that I’ve been somewhat limited i time as I’m working a mid-shift this week (11am to 8pm), but generally I can crank out some decent length on a cuff.  I added the standard size pen for reference, because I’m not too impressed. This is using size 0 needles and I’m getting gauge as per Nancy Bush’s pattern.

It’s going slower than a herd o’turtles. I’m not too happy. While I find the shaping and “seaming” interesting, I will admit that this extra-small gauge just isn’t my cup of tea. I may have to rip back and readjust for my usual gauge.

So says the girl who knits on wee needles on a regular basis. Kinda funny, innit?

  1. heh I have a sock pattern I’d really like to do but 2.0 mm needles are NO. which you know seems really silly when my sock needles of choice are 2.5mm but it makes a difference, it really does!

(though the pattern I like needs a light coloured yarn and what I want to knit is darkest eggplant.)

    • It sure does! I think my size 0 needles are 2.0’s. I know that my size 1 DPNs are 2.25. I suspect I could have switched to them, but now that I’m zooming away on the 2.5s again, I’m much happier.

I also switched yarns. It seems to be working well for the pattern!  I just…uh…got rid of the calf shaping. More to come in a future post… 😉
