W.I.P. Wednesday

Not much to show for this WIP Wednesday.  I guess that’s what happens when you get tangled up in little Sim lives and dramas instead of watching movies and knitting.  Oops.

These are the Glynis socks.  No, they don’t look much farther along than they were, do they?  It’s because I had to rip back yet again, lengthen the foot, and then re-knit the heel.  Time-consuming tedium.  I also tried the sock on again (obviously, for the picture), and it seems that the leg/cuff is going to be a little tight.  I barely managed to get my heel in the short little leg part.  It fi beautifully in the foot, but not in the “cuff”.  This is going to be a problem.  A huge one.  I also realized that the pattern repeat at the beginning of the round is a little…um… “off”.  It’s missing some yarnovers, etc.  It isn’t a particularly difficult pattern, just…”involved”.  I’m starting to wonder if an “involved” pattern is what I really want to be working on right now.

These are little things that just frustrate me.  When I’ve been working on a sock this long without finishing, I get antsy.  We’ll see what I wind up doing about it.

Something a little more…progress-worthy, I guess.  It’s a plain old sock, the one whose mate has a slip-stitch heel. Still, since it’s a plain sock, I can just sorta tick away at it, and see something actually happen.  Something tells me that I may just concentrate on it for a bit.  Something easy.  Something relatively mindless.
