I know, I know…with the exception of yesterday’s post (which was a special event, yes), updates have been light on the ground. But I have an excuse…I’ve been busy!
While The Yarn Harlot was taking part in Babywatch 2011, we have been doing a bit of the same. First off, a co-worker of mine was expecting her wee one in about a month. Wednesday was her last day at work, so I figured I’d cast on a pair of booties.
They took a little longer than I thought, but they’re so adorable, I think she’ll love them….and so will her little boy, who was born yesterday (5 weeks early, but about 6 pounds, so he shouldn’t have needed to bake much longer anyhow)
Next up? A February Baby Sweater for an incoming “Baby of Indeterminate Gender”, which could wind up being either a niece or nephew. We are waiting with bated breath for news that Baby X will arrive safe & sound. In the meantime…we have a gorgeous little sweater made out of Dyecauldron Classy DK in the colourway Coneflower Razzmatazz. Jazz hands, people! I sewed buttons on the front, but they’re purely decorative. I’m going to be stopping off for some sturdy snaps on the way home from work in the next couple of days.
Last, but definitely not least…a non-baby item. The September Earl Greys are finished! They were just cast off this evening, so they will likely be washed and blocked soonish.
So…yes. I’ve been exceptionally productive. Now to get on with my designwork, because I’d like to have a pattern ready for release in October. Soctober. That thing. With the socks. And the thrilling movies. That. Yes.
Stay tuned, folks!
