Nothing too wordy today. Just some photos from Hallowe’en 2019.
Gutted out and carved two pumpkins, then fired up the hot knife and carved a foam pumpkin for my parents. The natural pumpkins were carved with Zombie Pumpkins patterns Hammy and Mortem the Moon. The faux pumpkin is using their Vincent Price pattern.
A few years ago, we discovered that you could not only get Hallowe’en themed chocolate at Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, you can also get candy apples. The apples have become a tradition, so we went up to the mall to pick up a pair.
Dropped off the faux pumpkin at my parents’ house. They had requested a carving of Vincent Price, so that’s what they received. I carved one for myself last year and referenced it this week’s Top Ten Tuesday if you’d like to see what it looks like all lit up.
While I was there, I quickly took a couple of pictures of the neighbours’ lawns. It may be chilly outside (1C/33F), but folks were still getting ready for trick-or-treaters!
Then it was back home to set out our own pumpkins. I think we had about 100 kids last year. This year was sparse in comparison. I usually buy two boxes of treats, and that’s gone (or nearly gone) by the time the kids stop knocking on the door. Not so much this time. I picked up three boxes this year, thinking to be a bit more generous, and we still have more than 1.5 boxes left. Yikes!
After dinner we had our candy apples and settled in to relax after a busy day.
How did Hallowe’en 2019 trick or treat you?
